Traditional preparation

Peda is a milk-based sweet. In northern India it is commonly associated with thickened milk and sugar, often with cardamom. Shops vary the method, so this site does not claim that every Sohan Peda batch follows one recipe.

A Times of India report on 2 October 2026 quoted Sohanlal Gupta on Malwan peda: milk simmered for hours, with sugar and green cardamom, rather than starting from prepared mawa. That is a published interview, not a specification for the packs in the shop. Ingredient lists appear on a product only after the business confirms them.Read about traditional peda

From Malwan to wider markets

On 2 October 2026, The Times of India reported that Sohanlal Gupta, described as proprietor of Malwan ka Sohan Peda, received an order for 200 kg of peda from the Italian company Domenico Percoco after the UP International Trade Show. The report said the sweet was shown under the One District One Product scheme.

That is a news report about one order. It does not mean this website currently offers international delivery. The same article discussed a Geographical Indication application. This site does not describe Sohan Peda as GI-tagged.
