On 2 October 2026, The Times of India published a report from Prayagraj titled “Fatehpur’s Malwan peda lands Italy export order, eyes GI tag.” The reporter was Kapil Dixit.
What the report says
The article says Sohanlal Gupta, described as proprietor of Malwan ka Sohan Peda, received an order to supply 200 kg of peda to the Italian company Domenico Percoco after the UP International Trade Show. It says the sweet was shown under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. An official quoted in the piece spoke about sales by three Malwan peda traders together during the show. This website does not treat that combined figure as Sohan Peda’s own sales.
